First, I know you don't have any say about when B&N decides to post your e-books. Second, sorry about my taking my frustrations out in your blog.
THIRD, and most important, at 13:00 hrs (1:00 PM CDT) B&N FINALLY loaded "The Gathering Edge" as an e-book for sale. Got it, stayed up until midnight:45 to finish it
_Gathering Edge_ might not, technically, have a cliffhanger, but I turned the last page on my ebook fully expecting more story and disturbed the dogs and cat with my unhappiness.
Yes, and if it does not TECHNICALLY end on a cliffhanger, then it isn't a cliffhanger. The reader wanting more story is not the same as the characters being left in imminent peril of their lives when the book ends.
That was the way I felt. Got to the last page at midnight:45, hit advance, and my e-reader just ignored me.
I just KNOW there's more, dang-it.
Actually, Sharon says "It is NOT a cliffhanger." and since she and Steve are the brains behind the series, I have to take her opinion. (again, dang-it)
I believe he is shipping as we speak. The lateness of the hour is NOT his fault.
I don't know what happened down at S&S or their warehouse or anything beyond the fact that they *finally* shipped the books to us, in Maine, for signing on Friday, May 21, which meant they arrived at our house on Tuesday, May 25. We pulled an all-nighter, close enough, to get them onto the UPS truck next day, Wednesday, May 26, and they arrived at the Uncle's late on Monday May 1. At which point, we heard from him that he would begin shipping on May 2.
