How would I know; why should I care?

The Box from LL Bean arrived. The slippers are already on my feet, and the fleece-lined flannel shirt? Baby, this garment is never coming off of my body.
Today's regular mail brought royalties -- that's statements and checks -- for electronic sales made through Baen.com. So, yay! money in the mail.
Yesterday, we turned in "Block Party," the requested seasonal story in support of Neogenesis. This one was something of a challenge, because the request was for "seasonal," and one naturally doesn't like to disappoint one's editor. However, neither Liadens nor Surebleakeans can possibly celebrate "Christmas;" nor were we persuaded that they would celebrate any of the other winter holidays native to our own Earth. What that meant was that we had to figure out the "notes" for a seasonal story, and try to construct an in-world story that hit those notes. Not really sure we did it right, but our editor promises a quick reading.
Today, it's back to the salt mines Fifth of Five. But first? Lunch, and perhaps even a nap.
Everybody have a good day.
Today's blog post brought to you by two bands: The Zombies, who did the original in 1965; and Santana, who covered it in 1977: "She's Not There."

Date: 2017-10-17 07:31 pm (UTC)This is a song that I heard all the time growing up, but since I was young, I only remembered the story my mind spun to make sense of the lyrics. I have not been able to figure out what it was for over 2 decades, but I'm reasonably certain that this was the culprit.
$$ in the mail
Date: 2017-10-17 07:40 pm (UTC)Is it possible to get a picture of the famous LLBean plaid shirt? Still with the body in it, of course :-)

Date: 2017-10-18 09:19 am (UTC)Of course as we all know it would be a celebration of it changing from beyond miserably cold, not fit for any sentient being, to just your typical Nor'Easter ( my apologies if I have mangled the grammatical representation of that phrase too much! ) or almost Spring from their perspective! :)
Hoping this note brings either groans or giggles!
Thanks again for the latest e-arc, it was devoured across a span of less than 36 hours, and left me drooling for what you are slaving over now, and makes me want to go back and re-read every book in preparation of Fifth of Five landing as an e-arc in my future soon'ish.
Wishing All at the Farm a Happy and safe 2017 holiday season!
Y'All are always in my thoughts! I won't ever be able to say "Thanks" in any other way than to support you monetarily by purchasing anything you all create for us.
Fifth of Five
Date: 2017-10-19 12:01 pm (UTC)I've faithfully read my e-arc of Neogenisis, and am now back to reading Jethri's Trader stories. I think next the two books in the Cantra-Jela stories. Maybe then a sprint through the three collections & through the single chap-books.
What I am trying to say, badly, is that I'm willing to read any story written by the Sharon-Steve team, and all of the Sharon stuff, and all of the Steve stuff. So should the 5/5 book tie up threads, I'll be following wherever you decide to write next.
PS: In the scheme of books in my house; there are Andre Norton books in the living room, Anne McCaffrey books in the Den, and everyone else in the upstairs library. The Lee&Miller books have migrated to the living room; right next to the comfy chair.
