Damp, cool, windy. St. John is a pleasant city, very walkable. 'round one corner it reminds me eerily of Baltimore; 'round another corner, it's very like Maine. I've said before that Maine and New Brunswick ought to run away together, and the match seems more apt every time I visit.

Now, if only I could figure out what "mack-mack-ow" means. Obviously, it's of vital importance, as he makes sure to make eye contact before beginning his speech, and repeats it several times. Could be he wants me to turn off the wind, of which there has been -- and continues to be -- Prodigious Amounts this day.

We will here observe a moment of silence in order to offer thanks to Bud and Dustin, whose amazing feats with shingle and window last year means that the wind is not as I type wailing through my office and icing up the monitor.

The day was consumed with mundane things. The information for DirigoChoice has finally arrived. It's impenetrable, of course, so I've made an appointment with an "Anthem Agent" in town for Monday to see if the thing might be put to me in plain English. I'd love for Dirigo to be the Affordable Healthcare it pretends to be, but I'm not taking any chances on turning blue, here...

Did a good chunk of SRM work, and totted up the bills. Made lentil soup for supper -- good day for it.

...and Mozart has given up on me, and gone down the hall to the kitchen. Not a bad idea, that.
