rolanni: (Flying Monkey!)
So, among the several upsets attendant upon yesterday was coming home to find that my email -- and, more importantly, SRM's email -- has gone wonky. Mail is delivered, but -- we can't send anything out. The claim is that the SMTP server is not findable, spiced with an allegation that our mail servers are misconfigured. Since I haven't done anything to my mail server's configuration in years, I spit upon this allegation.

Still...if you've sent email to SRM Publisher or to Steve or to me -- we probably have it. We treasure it. We just can't answer it. Hopefully, we'll get it straightened out today.

And, now -- to the day job!
rolanni: (agatha&clank)
Steve fixed it. Indeed, Time Warner changed the SMTP to secure, and failed to let anyone know that.

Gah.

Thanks to those who offered -- or suggested -- a backup gmail account. I do have one, but prefer not to do ...Actual Business through Google.

Eidolon Open for Pre-orders
The Yule 2008 chapbook, Eidolon: Adventures in the Liaden Universe® Number 14 , is now open for pre-orders. This chapbook contains two original stories: "Shadow Partner," and "Persistence." Each story features a well-known member of Clan Korval, portrayed as others see them.

Despite climbing paper prices, SRM has been steadfast in refusing to increase the price of its chapbooks. Unfortunately, it can't do much about the various alarums and excursions lately undertaken by the US Postal Service. So! The price for Eidolon is $10. In order to hold customer postage costs to a minimum, the chapbooks will be mailed by tracked Media Mail within the US and First Class to Canada, for a postage fee of $4.75. Overseas customers...shipping will be $7.

You may purchase Eidolon by one of the three following means:

1. By credit card or direct payment through PayPal to EIDOLON@KORVAL.COM (note this eddress). Up to three chapbooks will travel on one $4.75 postage fee.

2. Go to http://www.korval.com/eidolon/ and clicky the appropriate button at the bottom of the page.

3. Checks and money orders (in US funds only; sorry NO credit card numbers to this address) to:

Library Journal Reviews Duainfey!

By Jackie Cassada, Asheville Buncombe Lib. Syst., NC -- Library

Lee, Sharon & Steve Miller. *Duainfey*. Baen, dist. by S. & S. Sept. 2008. c.336p. ISBN 978-1-4165-5552-0. $24. FANTASY

In a world separated by a thin border from the lands of the Fey, Rebecca Beauvelley knows that for her younger sister Caroline to make a marriage beneficial to their family, a husband must soon be found for Rebecca, despite her crippled and useless arm. When her father betroths her to a cruel northern lord, she runs away with the charming elder Fey Altamire. Too late, Rebecca discovers that Altamire's intentions are far from honorable and that she has become a sexual pawn in his rise to power among the Fey and human lands. The husband-and-wife writing team, authors of the "Liaden Universe" series (e.g., I Dare), begin a new series that blends the fantasy and romance genres in one seamless whole. Some steamily graphic sex scenes may limit this to an adult readership;otherwise, for most libraries.
