rolanni: (Illusionist)
As today, we slept in yesterday. After a leisurely breakfast, we headed into Deepest Waterville, stopping in at the Children's Book Cellar to sign some books and catch up with Ellen, before hitting the Barrels Community Market's Grand Opening. The store was crowded and the shelves were full; there were two women providing live Celtic music. We committed Italian herb bread, spreadable goat cheese with garlic and basil, two kinds of beans and potatoes.

Shopping done, we removed to SRM's Galactic Headquarters and proceeded to sign eight cases of Fledgling. Steve has a picture of what that looks like, exactly; perhaps he'll be posting it. We refreshed ourselves with fresh bread spread with goat cheese, commented to each other that it was a beautiful day and decided to drive down to Augusta to visit the B&N and sign Fledgling, since we'd just had plenty of practice and were sure to get it right.

Alas, Fledgling was not in stock, nor was it on order. It is now expected to be on the shelves by Wednesday.

Before arriving at the Barnes and Noble, we stopped at a new store on Civic Center Drive -- The Vinery. We had a pleasant time visiting with the owner, Maryanne, and went away happy with a bottle of mead (I haven't had mead in forever; I just couldn't find it up here. The joke being that the bottle I bought is from a local apiary, R. Nicoll), a bottle of Natural Sweet Rose from Robertson Winery, South Africa, and a loaf of oatmeal bread.

Depating B&N, we decided to take the long way home, stopping at the 99 for soup and a sandwich before proceeding through Belgrade, Rome, Mercer (where we paid our respects to World Famous Mercer Bog), Norridgewock, and so returned to the Cat Farm in time to have some frozen yogurt, wash the dishes and view "Some Like it Hot," which is a comedy about the Valentine's Day Massacre, and features Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon dressing up in women's clothes. Marilyn Monroe could teach them a thing or two about how to wear a dress.

So, a very pleasant day, yesterday. Today, the plan is to go down to the office, sign more books, then come home and do some work.

Signed eight more cases today. . .

This is what eight cases of signed books looks like.  The cart is double-sided.

This is what's left to sign, still encased.

Another shot of the books that are left.  Sorry about the lighting.  The camera was having a hard time with the light and
the fact that everything in its range was approximately the same shade of brown.
