The UPS Guy came to the door just as kinzel and I were sitting down to lunch, and delivered unto us the cover flats for the Ace edition of Crystal Soldier. It's an interesting cover, though the authors are somewhat bemused to learn from the enclosed sales points that Soldier is the sequel to Balance of Trade.

Those things in the book's favor that the sales folken tell the bookstores?

Oh, dear...any chance to get it changed, or have they gone out?

I remember my career dying with my "floating indian maiden" fantasy/horror cover. Even people who liked my other books weren't sure they'd like it... .

It's time to say the mantra to yourselves.... "The Independents know us. The Independents will save us from the Little Death of fear...We face this and let it flow around us, and remain untouched by it."

Or something like that. If you have an herb shop within driving distance, there are spells to reverse luck about certain things...(Allie research is so much fun!)
