Eyes Needed
Tuesday, November 14th, 2006 05:08 pmHaving wasted spent odd bits 'n bobs of the last couple days working on a new!improved!grown-up! website, I've now gotten to the point where I'm cross-eyed, and it's on line.
If someone(s) with a couple minutes on their hands could go check it out, test the links, kick the tires and whatnot, I'd be appreciative.

I like that there is a consistent look and feel on the the material listed under "Main Menu:"
It was jarring, though to go to the Liad/Korval/etc. links and then get white background\
Regarding the heavy-lined enclosing whatever-it's-called, on the Main Menu pages, that pulls my eye off the text and onto it as heavy thick graphic. I tend to not like such borders things because my eye gets distracted off the text... computers I'm the only user of I don't use backdrop images, just plain default blue usually... not that much of it usually shows. I had more than 70 windows open on my machine at work on Tuesday before I closed some of them... clutter and such I can deal with when it's my own clutter. The new Tamora Pierce novel's design has me irritated, the pages inside the book have borders around them and the borders pull my eyes and attention off the book onto the border graphic.
The rectangular boxes around the Main Menu and Favorite Line areas are a bit jarring to me because rectangles are aesthetically out of harmony with the overall enclosing graphic--the border had rounded on the corner areas and then concavity and the embossed leaves pointing inside the enclosed area. The rectables are of a different width of line, different color, and those sharp right angle pointed corners--rounded off corners if possible I suspect would look better to me.
