As I understand it, the chunk is not so much missing as emptier than expected. Kind of like someone rolled up the rug and moved everything out for the party. Not quite sure who needs a dancefloor on that scale, but . . .
And I suspect if Jela borrowed the furnishings, he'll put them back when he's done with them. If we're lucky, they might even have improvements - such as colonists.
What did our Authors know and when did they know it??!!!?!?! Did they sell short on that part of the universe (or was it the cats ?) Was the DOI involved? (or at least the IRS)
