Things I Learned Today

1. Do not ever, under any circumstances whatsoever, and especially if days&days&days have gone by with no problem, trust Microsoft Publisher not to screw you. (So, OK; I knew that. Call it a lesson relearned.)

2. If you shove in the catch tray of the Lexmark multiuse thingy over there on the work table, you will never, but never, be able to pull it out again.

3. There's a fandom for My Little Pony.

4. A device exists which is called a shedding rake, and boy does it get fur outta cats.

4a. This is the exact device Mozart has been telling me and telling me to acquire so he didn't have to beat me up every time I tried to brush him.

5. Even a late WorldCon will be upon you before you can adequately prepare for it.

The shedding rake - we need one so badly that it's not even funny. It's not the long hairs who are shedding (though they do enough of it), it's our two male shorthairs. We took Stucco (tuxedo alpha) to the vet today for a shot and he left two cats' worth of hair behind. The white countertop was black when we were finished! Is the rake the one that looks like a flea comb, or is it bigger?

As far as the MLP fandom? I'm afraid so. It rather stunned me when I found out. A good friend of ours is a MLP fanatic, and we mailed a small herd off to her yesterday. She's mentioned the MLP fiction writing, shows, fanfic, slash...

I can only just stare in amazement, then go hide in my pile of cats. ;)

Is the rake the one that looks like a flea comb, or is it bigger?

We got ours at Pet Quarters. It's a flexible loop of metal with fine teeth on one side and coarser teeth on the other, and a leather handle. All of the cats adore it and the fine teeth got jaw-dropping amounts of dead fur out of Scrabble, who is the shortest shorthair we've ever had.

A shedding rake! I need this! Theseus has the Fur From Hell. I bought another tool that was supposed to deal with and it sorta works, but not enough.
