So, having finished a book, and mine partner another, I spent yesterday and today filing, moving last year's records into the paperbox that will become their final resting place, entering the Big Freaking Pile of Data that I've been shoving into a file folder since early November and refusing to deal with. Including... ahem...two checks. I still haven't quite finished the data entry, but thats what tomorrow's for. Steve and I need to have a creative conference regarding Saltation and the-as-yet-unnamed-sequel to Scout's Progress (which might get given the working title for the book that became Scout's Progress. Unfortunately, the Perfect Title for the sequel is Pilot's Choice, but that's probably not such a good idea.)

Anyhow, in and around all this fun and frivolity, the last of the boxes containing the Stuff to assist in Steve's move from his dead deskbox to the new one arrived today. I had ordered in some memory for my computer, which also arrived today. Or So I Thought.

Imagine, if you will, my Utter Surprise and Dismay upon opening the box that was supposed to hold two sticks of 2GB memory and finding instead an unlocked Sony Ericsson G900. With a packing slip for a guy who lives in Cambridge and is probably pretty concerned about where his phone is by now. I called Tiger Direct, but the kid who finally! answered the phone disconnected me. I sent them a message via the web-form and received a reply to the effect that they'd get around to me in three or four days. I really hope the guy in Cambridge doesn't need this phone.

So, anyway. I'm tired. The filing was, for a couple hours, caught up. That was nice. Unfortunately dealing with the folder produced...filing. Sigh. It is as I have long suspected: bookkeeping is Bad for You.

I'm gonna go get a glass of wine and a sandwich. Tomorrow's another day. And the day after the day after that...

...is Monday.

This is the answer I expected. The return question is if there are enough cycles to consider _another_ tale. Given the amount of work you have queued, I wouldn't be surprised if the answer is no, but I can think of at least five or six other stories that I'd eagerly pay my subscription for. I suspect that the one that follows Saltation is right out, but there are a number of other back threads that could be equally wonderful. This includes some of the other tales that I don't really expect to be picked up now that the original publisher's gone.

If time does not permit, then thank you for the last two years worth of Monday lunch breaks. It's been fun, inspirational, and most of all entertaining.
