rolanni: (i've often seen a cat without a smile)

One of the things that happens to me when I write for extended periods of time, like I did this past weekend, is that I get into what I'll call Writer's High. It's a place where wit is on...and it's hard to turn off. Really hard to turn off. May I just say that nobody likes a smart-ass secretary?

At least, I'm keeping the faculty awake.

Also, from the Department of Why Don't We Think These Things Through -- the college some months ago decided to institute a tier system for its extracurricular events and meetings. The cream of these, the Marquee Event, is allowed no competition for its audience; the scheduling office will not schedule lesser events on a Marquee evening. The theory at work here is that, if there aren't four dozen little events going on, then Everyone will come to the Marquee Event. I leave it to the audience to calculate how likely this theory is to prove out.

In any case, since Marquee Events are so important and all, you'd think that there would be a list of the things in the scheduling office, so we, the humble, would know when not to schedule a lesser event.

Except there's not.

Not only that, but! Marquee Events being so top-tier, you'd think there would be a Special Protocol to publicize them to the greater community, wouldn't you?

You'd be wrong.

Also, pointing these lapses out? So not a good idea.

*Sigh*

There was a lower limit below which they were unable to insure me. They were not allowed to tell me what that limit was.
