Long day, no pizza

I got some words written. Which is better than no words written.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Tomorrow is likely to be a No Writing day; Steve and I have an evening speaking gig. Maybe I'll get some longhand in at the day-job.

I'm enjoying the heck out of Edison's Eve, by the way, though the author gets a little carried away by her . . . philosophical differences with Edison. I can see how it might happen, mind you, but she went just a thought too long.

There's an ad for Fledgling in the May Locus -- very cool!

Also, for those who, like me, adore Office Supplies, Steve found me a nice canvas, accordion pleated folder to put the current project in so it can be schlepped back and forth endlessly to the day-job. I had been using pleated cardboard files, but the action of the file against the canvas bag in which I transport the file, my book and lunch up the hill to the library, totally destroys the corners in a matter of weeks. It was a heartbreaker. Well! This baby isn't going to lose any corners during the next ten years. Honestly, this acquisition makes me very, very happy. And! There's a flap that folds over the file that has a plastic window in it. Into that window I have slipped a copy of Agatha Heterodyne and the Amazing Coffee Machine.

Sigh.

Yes.

Happy.

I get a little silly over containers - new binders, accordion folders, dressers, houses... which includes lots of office supplies. I guess it's part of my ongoing efforts to get organized.

Do you think that's a BAD thing?

I'm crazy about office supplies too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. My husband thinks it's weird that I like to browse office supply stores.

Are Office Supply Stores the female equivalent of a Hardware Store?

Oh, I like hardware stores, too. All those gadgets!

Ooh! Where did he get the folder? I've been thinking idly, now and again, that one would be nice to have.

My best birthday present ever was the $100 gift certificate to Office Depot. Major husband points were awarded.

Folders, not so much.
Now a good pen -- that is something to treasure.
Zebra f-402, if anyone is interested is my idea of a good pen.
