rolanni: (i've often seen a cat without a smile)

As it turned out, "Enchanted" was exactly what my poor, sprained brain needed. Wow, talk about white bread fairy tale chop suey. I especially adored the Prince urging Robert forward to try his kiss, and the worried expression on his silly, handsome face. And Susan Sarandon's over-the-top evil queen was easily worth the price of admission. Thank you, Netflix.

Whether because of the salubrious effects of the movie or just plain exhaustion, I slept the whole night through, once again ably assisted by coon cats. Scrabble has been doing outpost duty this weekend. She'll come by to check in and, yanno, Report, but mostly she's on the lookout for her Steve. "He's not home yet, Sharon."/"Keep watching, kid."

Question: How many readers of this fine journal take any note of the sidebar information? I update it -- have just finished updating it, but if it's basically something that people don't read, it may be one of those things that's not worth the trouble.

And now! Back to the couch.

I only read your journal in my friends list, so sidebar information is invisible to me unless I am prompted to explicitly go to your web log.

Ditto, except that I use Google Reader, not the flist.

Now I want to watch Enchanted again, and I should be working. Darn it. :)

I see the sidebar when I'm making a comment. I have actually noticed some things in there.

Me, too. Or if there's something behind a cut . . .

I check your sidebar whenever I comment, or if I've not commented for a week or two I make a point to check. I appreciate that you keep it updated.

Yes, one of the most amusing DVDs, with no cliche left unmocked. We had to play it twice to hear all the dialogue, because we frequently drowned it out laughing.

I am a cereal-box reader, so I do frequently glance over the sidebar. I like the list of tags (which I assume is something automatic, that you don't have to do anything about) -- sometimes I will notice one and think, "What in the world is THAT about?" and click it to get some interesting post from the past.

Ditto Abigail's remark.

Yesterday - or day before - I had fun following the links under "Mad Scientist"

I have your and Steve's Journals on MyYahoo page, and I always see your sidebar stuff when I follow those links. Thanks for taking the time to update it for us, but I also get your info dumps, etc, so if you don't have time to do it, no problem.

I'm glad the Coon Troops are taking such good care of you!

Ditto. Your tags are very intriguing!

I wouldn't want you to take time away from,
say, sleeping or Mouse and Dragon for them
if it came down to that, but if you're into
sidebar-izing, i'm into following the result.

I think it's a really interesting way of
archiving older posts. They're kind of
micro story hooks, and great ones, putting
something essential about a post into a
few words that make one really curious to
find out more...

I check your posts at least twice a day and occasionaly something on the sidebar will catch my eye. Worthwhile to me.

Last year when my mother-in-law was dying, our middle daughter and I were unable to travel to California to be with her (my wife and the other two daughters were there). Enchanted is what got the two of us through it all. It is a wonderful movie, and Sarandon was exquisite as the Evil Queen/Wicked Stepmother.

As I typically read via the /friends page (because of the background and font colors I need in order to actually be able to read), I rarely see any information from the OP's style/layout, unless something is said about it - and then I go and look.

I do notice and occasionally follow a link. I like that it does exist and can use if I have the time. I'd say put it in the "update if you have the time" category. I find it useful.

I kind-of notice the side-bar stuff when you cut-tag something. Otherwise I'm reading it on my friends page.

I occasionally use the sidebar so I would miss it if it disappears. However, keeping it updated should not be a major priority.
