My comment has nothing to do with your post, except that it's sort of about what I have been reading, Heirloom, A Certain Symmetry, the Pat Rin chapters of I Dare. I want more! I know he's only eleven or twelve at the time of Mouse and Dragon, but I hope there is a glimpse of him. And is it before or after his first disastrous pilot-testing failure?

Really, I think it must have been the saving of Korval for Anne Davis to come on the scene, to give the yos'Galans and Val Con a loving home. And of course Pat Rin had Luken to partially offset Kareen. Without Anne as a mother, would Val Con have been able to break out of the agent mold?

But really, I don't know how Er Thom and Daav turned out as well as they did, and it seems Chi and perhaps more so Petrella were affected in their turn by residual disapproval of their parents' going against the Delm's wishes. By the way, WHERE is the story that mentions the birth of Chi and Petrella?

Anyway, I want more Pat Rin, pretty please.

I've been reading the Sookie books since the beginning and they still amuse me. Mind you, they don't amuse enough to buy them in hardcover, so I'm lately a year or two behind, but -- sure, I'll read the next one.

Thanks. I recently bought 'True Blood' the first season. I enjoyed it hugely and I was thinking of trying the books. But I'll start with the library.
