I woke up very (very) early this morning, looked out the window and watched the doe amble along our neighbor's garden (*shhhh*)

Our Moo and mini-Moo cards are here, and they are adorable!

My telescoping walking stick is also here. It, I fear, is not adorable, though it radiates a certain severe charm. Perhaps I will buy it a bow tie.

The royalty check is here! *makes it into soup and feeds the checkbook, not too much at once*

Hexapuma ate about half of the teaspoon of yogurt I offered him. Mozart Wanted! Some! Too! so I gave him a splot -- whereupon he looked at me like I was out of my mind.

What must I do in Montreal, if I do no other thing (saving, yanno, the convention)?

Where's the best place to get dim sum?

What's the best place to eat breakfast?

Is La Ronde Carousel receiving visitors? Last I heard, it had been dismantled, but! an Historic Society was trying to buy it.

Remember! The auction for the submission copy of Conflict of Honors and associated goodies is ongoing here

Carousel Tide revisions go slowly. It would be a Fine and Good Thing, she said, if I could have this done before WorldCon.

The Biodome is freaking awesome! I saw it in march when I went up. The Botannical Gardens were mostly closed, so I plan to go see them Friday along with the Stewart Museum. There's a whole museum dedicated to my family! Must go see!

I really want to get to the Botanical Garden (stares at knee sternly), and ooh! The Biodome, yes, and the Planetarium, and...

...I forgot to book an extra week on this trip...

I'm coming in a little late to Hex's story here so you may have already tried this, but have you tried Gerber's baby food? Shortly after I got Ferodir from the shelter (kitty sleeping in my icon), he developed a bad cold, complete with massive sneezes and loss of appetite. Until I could get him into the vet I encouraged him to drink kitty milk, warmed chicken broth, and once we were sure he was drinking the broth, he got a bit of french vanilla ice cream, which he made sure to lick every single bit of it up. Once at the vet it was determined that he needed some medicine to chase out the rest of the congestion he had, and the vet tested his appetite by smearing a bit of baby food on the table. I think it was chicken or ham, can't remember now. Ferodir sniffed it, splattered it with an enthusiastic paw smack, and apparently satisfied it was appropriately splattery and gooshy, licked the stuff up like it was the best thing in the world. I try to remember to get a small jar every so often nowadays in case he or little Arwen ever have a lack of appetite, but I make sure to give it to them before it expires as a special treat.

Which reminds me, a trip is needed to the store after I get off work at midnight tonight to round up some more canned kitty food, and a new jar of baby food. Good luck with Hex!

Instead of a walking stick, have you considered Margaret Mead's solution...a tall staff. It leant support and authority and was not in the least codgerly.

A Staff?

It would also give her greater reach if she needs to thump someone!

The good ones aren't collapsible though. And they can be a trip hazard for everybody else.

'fraid the stick needs to collapse, because, if I have my druthers, it will ride around in my bag all week and never once be needed. Ah. And I believe I shall name it Murphy.
