Zoooooommmmmm
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 11:30 amNew car is registered, taxes paid, plates attached and appropriately adorned with an expiration date of next July. Automagic toll-payer has been reattched to windshield. Old car has gone back to the dealer from whence it was purchased; money has flowed toward the driver. The insurance company has removed the old car from the policy. Doctor has been talked into providing retroactive referral to eye doctor (Note to Rolanni: You belong to an HMO. Referral. Referral. Referral. Sigh).
Next on board! Lunch, then a doctor's visit, for a change.
New car sure is pretty...
Edited to Add: Oooh! Enough money left over from sale, minus taxes/registration, to maybe buy a GPS. High Finance, we haz it.

Date: 2009-07-29 04:47 pm (UTC)Argent will have to be pried out of Steve's cold, dead fingers. No, back when it became apparent that the day-job was not just a passing fancy, and we would, indeed, need two cars, I bought a "beater" as they're styled up here -- a 1997 Nissan Altima. Alas, it did not go good in the snow, and the bosses were becoming testy at my snow-related absences. A 2000 Subaru Legacy Sedan, (with a spoiler!), in Wintergreen Metallic, AWD, 114,000 miles, is my new ride.
Day-job's getting expensive.
Despite which, I am pleased. It's a nice car and the former owner took impeccable care of it.

Date: 2009-07-29 06:12 pm (UTC)Lunch good. Doctor's visit... we-ell, that depends.
I was lusting for a Subaru wagon last time I went car shopping but had to settle for a Toyota Sienna Van. It's a good vehicle, but oooooh, I miss my old Subaru. ::sigh::
toll-payer
Date: 2009-07-29 08:15 pm (UTC)In some states, they also keep track of the car model, and if there is a mismatch between what's on file and what they "see", you can get a ticket. (Have a friend who had a long, complicated fight with the state of New York....) Don't know if that's true in Maine or not.
