My, what fun we've had today!

I called Anthem BCBS early -- same number I'd called before, where the helpful young lady had promised to send the Dirigo information out "immediately." Today's helpful young person swore that she couldn't help me at all and transfered me to Marketing. The helpful young lady at Marketing couldn't help me either, and transfered me to yet another young lady, who said for a change that she could help me, asked all the same questions as the all the previous young ladies and said she'd send something out to me in three or four days.

I wrote to the Governor, whose brainchild this health plan is -- with a copy to the two most likely high-up insurance commissioners (I love the internet) -- detailing the current problem and my concerns, in light of previous, similar problems with Anthem. Then I went to gym.

This afternoon, [livejournal.com profile] kinzel and I had a chat with an editor, then I wrote some SRM correspondence, paid a couple of pressing bills, checked the email and -- there was an answer from the governor's office, though not from Himself, assuring me that they were working closely with Anthem, that there had been so much interest it had been hard for them to keep up, and that they would make sure that I received the information I requested. I very much hope that will prove to be the case. I'm tired of Anthem.

Writing today consisted of figuring out new ways of getting from Here to There, since the changes in Chapter Seven (remember Chapter Seven?) mean that all the players are on different squares now, which means that the former, nice, neat plot synopsis I'd written to keep myself honest, is, um, score paper for 500 Rummy. I think I've got most of it straightened out. At least I know where tomorrow's scene opens.

Wasn't ch 7 the one that turned out to be the plug in the pipeline, so to speak?

That's the one. And lest we forget the Lesson: A novel is an organic critter. Change one thing and you change it all. Argh. At least I caught it early...

Oh boy are you right on that one.

(Still dealing with picking apart one, and the ramifications of expanding a =single= scene...)
