Slept badly, then right through the alarm, which made me feel like I'd slept the day away, until I realized that it was a few minutes to 11 and I'd already been out to town and back.

Carousel Tides proofing is done; all that remains is to photocopy the marked-up pages, write a cover note regarding 'way and throw the package in the mail. That? Will happen Monday or Tuesday.

Right now, it's time to get to work.

Progress on Carousel Tides galleys (in pages read):

Scanning instead of copying?

Seeing how much our offices have gone electronic, wonder when they will let you scan the page corrections to them instead of entrusting the the vagaries of the USPS. Nothing against the USPS, of course, just thinking about saving a few trees here and there. And toner. And time.

Happy week-ending to you!

Well...no. I got them to accept scanned pages once, when the deadline was Completely Insane, with a no-deliveries holiday eating up two of our supposed reading days, but in general, they seem to want the Actual Marked Up Pages.

I'm happy that the galleys come electronically. Some houses apparently still mail paper galleys out to the author.

Congratulations on getting that done in so short a time. Wow. The thought of re-reading all that while making corrections, makes my eyes hurt! Hope you get a better night's sleep. Between the heat and the stress in your life right now - yep, restless nights are par for the course. One regular benadryl will help you relax and drop off to sleep. A warmish/coolish rinse in the shower to help you cool down, esp. with wet hair. Well, its helps me esp. after three restless nights in a row. Hope it works for you

Congrats on finishing reading those pages. Good job! as they say to the dogs in training where I work.
