Hexapuma celebrated his birthday by napping, falling out of the top of the bedroom closet, and napping some more.  He directs me to thank all of his fans for their good wishes on his birthday, and plans to have another one, tomorrow.

I apparently mis-added last night’s wordage somehow, so I’m not quite as far along as I thought I was yesterday.  For a brief, heady moment there, I thought I’d broken 80K today.  Alas, that is for tomorrow.

Hereabouts, it didn’t rain for most of the day, then did, unsatisfactorily.  We could use a real soaker, here, Rain Gods.  Just sayin’

Progress on Ghost Ship (no, really):

79,238 words/100,000 OR 79.24% completed

She sighed and used her chin to point at his hands, that he was still rubbing with the rag.

“Have you decided if you’re going to shoot me?”

Happy Birthday Hexapuma! It is my b-day too, alas I am not 5 years old today and I did nothing so exciting as jumping out of the top of a closet today. I plan to have another one next week and to see if that one comes up with any excitement or particularly good messy food. Rose, Syracuse

Glad Hexapuma had such an exciting birthday. Also don't we have another snippet? Hoping whoever is not going to be shot. Whoever it is also seems to have nerves of steel. Also points with the chin. I believe that's a Liaden custom.

Here, my Chickie has been very naughty indeed. Yesterday she being very tiny has figured out how to get into my room past the baby gate, get on the bed, and tear up bunches of kleenex. She also managed to eat an entire tube of antibiotic ointment from the night table. The vet pronounced that no big deal and my cat parent friends told me that petrolatum is the main ingredient of the ointment and also of hair ball remedy. So far no sign of any hairball from Chickie: chihuahua mix. Tonight she did it again. Got past the gate, up on the bed, got into the waste basket, left a carpet of shredded tissues everywhere, got up on the night table, opened up a jar of natural moisurizer made with lots of delicious natural ingredients and ate the whole thing. I'm not going to even call the vet for this one. I'll say no more about that. The moisturizer had nice bergamot oil in it. Don't know what she'll do tomorrow. I dread to think of it. There's a general priciple here. If a dog does something once she will definitely do it again and again unless prevented by the pack leader. Here that would be me. Must restore order. Wish me luck with that one. :). Barks to everyone.

My Midget )Silkey Terrier) didn't have such a happy day. She had major surgery to remove a bladder stone. Successfully. She is home now but had a very restless night. As she sleeps on my bed, so did I. About time for another pain pill, and then she will feel better. She's not allowed to jump up or down, so that means I am spending my day picking her up and putting her on the couch: her favorite place because she can see out the window. Then off the couch when she wants a drink or needs to go outside. Only two weeks of that and she's supposed to be back to her normal energetic self.
