Doctor's appointment today. Somehow, November became Doctor Month this year. Was given meds which may address the rotten sleep thing I've gotten into lately. It would be Nice if it did. Left, feeling low, and trudged over to the lab building to visit the vampires per orders of the first doctor of the month. For some reason, I had thought they were only going to bleed me of one vial, but, no -- they drew the full three. Left the lab feeling Even Lower, a condition exacerbated by the fact that the sticky note on which the doctor had written some names and whatnot for me had vanished somewhere between here and there. Searched pockets, pocketbook, book -- no joy. The damn' thing fell through a hole between the universes. I hate that.

Returned home, feeling low (do we see a pattern here?) to find that circumstances had conspired to delay [livejournal.com profile] kinzel's departure to the capital city of Augusta. I was feeling lousy enough by this time not to want to be left with only me for company, and invited myself along, spending most of the ride to and from staring moodily out the window, which my partner bore with good humor.

Since I was in a rotten mood anyway, I spent this afternoon filing and straightening up some of the Writing Mess so that I can begin to accrete more mess tomorrow.

I am, for the record, tired, cold, edgy, and irritable. I really, really want a good night's sleep. OK, five or six good nights' sleep. This doesn't seem like too much to ask, in the large scheme of things.

Have you tried taking melatonin for the sleep thing? I've been taking it since May and it makes an amazing difference. Mind you, I only take half a tablet--if I take more I start getting headaches and can't wake up in the morning. But I've gone from waking up six or seven times in the night to sleeping the night through, which makes a wonderful difference in my energy levels the next day.

No, I haven't. And it's one of the reasons losing that note irritated me so much. One of the names was of the local "alternative" practitioner, who was reported to know from melatonin, of which the usual doctor was honest enough to report herself uninformed. I'll need to call tomorrow when the office is open and ask for the name again.
