Adventures in Appliances

kinzel reports that the tech from Dead River arrived a few minutes after eight (a.m.!) to disconnect the old stove. The helpful delivery guys from Home Despot arrived around noon-thirty with the new stove and swapped them out. Max!, Mozart, and Patia sensibly went Elsewhere in the house while this was going on. Scrabble came to supervise, growing more and more agitated as she realized that Those! People! were Stealing! Mything! -- and that I was doing nothing to stop them. She was somewhat -- but not entirely mollified -- by the quick appearance of a New! Thing! and spent some time checking it out -- once, twice, five or maybe six times. The rest of the cats have been by a couple times, but its no big deal, except, you know -- not in a good place? Maybe we ought, Max! suggested, put it where the other Thing had been? Which we will, tomorrow, when the tech from Dead River reverses his role, and comes to us at eight (a.m.!) to connect the new stove.
In and around the excitement of the stove, business was more or less as usual. The gym thing was done, pick-up groceries were got, the post office was visited, and afterward the bank. Pre-orders for With Stars Underfoot now stand at 408. We might sell out before Christmas!

Goodness of new stoves
Date: 2004-11-18 06:02 pm (UTC)Oddly, the new stove is also getting its top cleaned rather more often than the old one, (although it is a lot easier without a lot of nasty crevices.)
The old one was avocado green and went out to the curb yesterday.
