rolanni: (Marvin's not happy)

So, I see that sharonleewriter.com crashed. (Actually, all of Maiahost appears to have crashed rather messily). It's back now, but entries made since last Saturday have apparently fallen through a hole in the space-time continuum. I can re-establish them from LJ, but...not this afternoon.

This afternoon, I think I'll have lunch, an antibiotic pill the size of my head, aaannnd -- a nap. Yep, another respiratory infection. Honestly, who issues these things, and how do I get off their mailing list?

In other news, it's snowing heavily, by which I mean (1) a lot and (2) the precipitation itself is very wet. Weatherbeans say 6-10 inches by the time it's all done, tonight. I say, I'll worry about that tomorrow.

Nasty flus are going around here this winter. Hay, everyone's got to make a living on this planet. Even viruses.

My dentist recommended to ward off respiratory infections for his son and also for anyone like me: asthmatics,... that we wash out our noses several times a day. One used to use an Asian Indian invention called a Nettie Pot. But now one can buy easy spray type thingies in the pharmacy or supermarket. A very good one is XClear. An acceptable cheap one is Simply Saline. Kills the bugs coming in through the nose.

Also at the first sign of a flu take something like Zicam. I take something with a very long name that begins Occi....Sold everywhere. The Occi....works for me.

After using antibiotics...you may know this already...they kill the good as well as the bad bacteria. So after a course of antibiotics take acidophilus in some form or other for as long as one has taken the antibiotics...I'd avoid yogurt which, like all milk products, causes congestion which just makes colds and flus worse.

Get well soon!
