What it says up above there.

Here’s the link.

An “eArc” is an electronic Advance Reading Copy.  It will contain errors.  It does cost more than the corrected ebook, coming in early August.  What you get for your money is this:  You get to read the story four-and-a-half-months before the Whole Rest of the Entire World!

Is that cool, or what?

Now I just have to figure out how to get it on my Nookbook. Any suggestions?

Download it via USB cable. Choose EPUB format.

I've emailed it to my Kindle and am womanfully restraining myself from starting it until I get home.

Yes, this pile of work in front of me suddenly looks a lot less important.

Baen sells eArcs (and all other books) DRM-free and in all formats. Just go to the Baen site and download the correct format for Nooks after buying. If you have any problems uploading it to your Nook, email Tech Support at techsupport@baen.com. I have the Nook app on my iPhone rather than an actual Nook, so Going from my research, it appears you can download the eArc to your PC or Mac and put it in your desktop Nook application for transfer by USB to your Nook. To check if this is possible, try downloading one of Baen's Free Library ebooks as a trial before spending $ for the eArc.

I'm going to have my techie friend come over and walk me through learning to upload/download? the EARC. Having GHOST SHIP available 4 months early is the only motivation which would make me do this. For no other book would I launch myself out into the perilous cyberspace unknown. I barely know how to use email and do simple searches but for GHOST SHIP I will extend my comfort zone.

By the way, Sharon, I went to the Baen site to check release dates and while reading the blurb for the omnibus containing PLAN B and I DARE I noticed that they have Pat Rin's name misspelled, as Pat Yin. You might want to see if they can fix that little typo.

Oh. Good. On the blurb for The Crystal Variation, they spell Cantra's name Chantra. Cousins, I guess. *cue Patti Duke theme music*

Ah, but the sleep deprivation will be sweet.

Oh man, AMAZING! That was pretty much awesome. So, so much awesome. So, so much.

When when when is the sequel to Ghost Ship coming out? Does the Book Currently Known as George serve this function, or must we wait for a whole 'nother book to be written before we find out what happens to everybody? If the epilogue hadn't been there, I would have gone totally crazy from the suspense, but even so I can hardly stand it.

Despite the fact that I have accomplished none of the very necessary things I was supposed to have done tonight, thank you for writing this book. I can't wait to find out the rest!

Waaaahhhh! Not only do I have an overdue report to finish, I'm at a work conference, so no slacking off. It is purchased though, but I can't download a zip file to my phone. That was probably a good thing. I'll be able to dl to my laptop tonight and move it over.....[cackle]

You could probably peek at the online html version on your phone... tempting, isn't it? Just a few words...

Heh. I did, but this phone chews through the battery, and I didn't want to be continually distracted! I managed around 13 chapters last night before I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

Baen is evil. I have 1/4 of my month's spending money left, it's only halfway through the month, and I've gleefully pre-ordered the signed hardcopy (which I would want, regardless). It's going to be woefully hard to restrain myself for four months. Sigh...

Thank so much for the info.

Please do not post spoilers. You may think that you are being cryptic, but if I now come across someone with those initials I will now know that something happens in that chapter.

It was a great read.

Any hint at the pub date of the next contracted Liaden book? I know, I know - but I've already re-read parts of Ghost Ship... and Skyblaze ...

I stayed up until midnight reading this. OMG. Lucky it's not a school night, I'd be in it up to my ankles. Also, got it onto the kindle software on my HTC Leg-end with absolutely no problems - Thank You Baen!! (Oh yes, you too, S&S).

Thank you again.

As ususual a wonderful tale, and well told. Thanks for the latest installment. Now I'm just waiting for my dead tree edition from Uncle Hugo's.

The proofing on the E-Arc seems pretty darn good by the way. Nice job.
