Saw a coyote crossing Route 9 on my way to the post office this morning. Outside temperature according to the car was minus 2 degrees (F) at 10:15 a.m. Only the near mountains were visible from the ridge, and a row of fluffy gray clouds boiling and roiling farther out.

Joyous solstice...
