Here Comes the Sun
Tuesday, December 21st, 2004 12:52 pmSaw a coyote crossing Route 9 on my way to the post office this morning. Outside temperature according to the car was minus 2 degrees (F) at 10:15 a.m. Only the near mountains were visible from the ridge, and a row of fluffy gray clouds boiling and roiling farther out.
Joyous solstice...

Date: 2004-12-21 06:26 pm (UTC)I've never been able to get my head around F, but here it's -23C, and then there's windchill on top of that making it -39C.

Minus 2F is (counts quickly on fingers; gets muddled, checks for a conversion program on the web...) around -18C.

Date: 2004-12-21 07:51 pm (UTC)We were a dite warmer up here, about 0 F overnight, all that big-city climate modification. Also closer to the water. The river is starting to freeze up, in spite of the tide and salt.
