Tekno Books has accepted "Fighting Chance" for _Women in War_, edited by Tanya Huff and Alex Potter. We know this because the checks and contracts arrived in the mail this morning. *Yaaay!*

Steve and I are trying to come up with a fantasy idea or six. This is remarkably difficult, especially since we -- well, I -- started out on the fantasy side of the street. Ah, well. Another few days -- until we come home from the New Hampshire gigs at the end of the week -- to let the brains veg and revitalize, then down to cases.

Today... Did the hair salon thing, did the gym thing, got rid of the mail at Albion, because I was running late and wouldn't make Unity before the post office closed for its mandatory hour at eleven (Does anyone else live in an area where the FedGov has shortened the local Post Office's hours?), collected all the lovely mail, with all the lovely checks -- four checks in all, between SRM and the writing side.

The Albion Postmistress tells me that, if one uses the 'net to print out the bar code and indicia, tracking numbers are free. This could be a big thing for SRM Publisher, so I'll check it out. Tomorrow.

After dinner -- ham and yams today -- Steve and I went out to deposit the various checks and then proceeded (another blue and blameless day, here) to Dover-Foxcroft and Points Toward Moosehead Lake, though we turned back before we actually committed Moosehead Lake. Which, in retrospect, may have been a mistake.

In any case, we came home; Steve is feeding the cats and I'm about to get off this infernal machine and go read for a couple hours.
