The floor guys are gone, leaving new floors behind them. And quite a bit of clean-up and reorganization to do. This is what it looks like, sorta:

Very pretty floors. I'll bet the cats are grateful that all the chaos is nearing an end. Hope you enjoy your new floors and regained peace and quiet!

Nice!

But having people in your house bashing around is such a disruption.

Beautiful!

Having survived the rough week, Mozart's cling to his happy place is most expressive.

Good pix. Thank you for sharing them.

Nize kitchen .... and poor catz! Evidently they have been quite exhausted by all the excitement.

Poor Mozart. Changes, and noises, and people disrupting everything.

You should all be better as you get it back to normal.

I just remembered that the semi-final round voting is open on Goodreads, and Ghost Ship is still in the running for best SF book. This round of voting is only open this week. Hadn't noticed a mention here yet this week, so thought I would say something.

An interesting situation came up when I tried to vote for Lee & Miller as Goodreads favorite authors. It seems that only Sharon is a Goodreads author because Steve hasn't "claimed his profile." (I had to ask, and this is what they told me.) So then I voted for Ghost Ship (both in its SF category and favorite book) and Sharon.

Yeah, Steve tried to "claim his profile" a couple times, I think, but Goodreads can't get their head around the fact that there are several Steve Millers and variations of "Steve" Millers writing SF and Fantasy, and wanted to "give" him books that weren't his, while not allowing him to actually claim the books we wrote together.

Life being too short, he gave up.

Not really a surprise. When I originally tried to vote for favorite author, (Lee and Miller, after I voted for Ghost Ship in the SF category) the button wouldn't work. When I complained, they explained that the favorite author needed to publish in that year. I then pointed out that not only had the author published in that year, but that the book was up for a Goodreads award. So they said ok, but only for Sharon, not Steve.

Very Nice!

Everything looks very nice. Mozart does look exhausted. I can't find him in the photo with Scrabble. Has he learned to be invisible?

Steve is looking very fit by the way.

I especially like the kitchen floor. Is that some sort of linoleum looking like paved tiles?

It's vinyl, and it actually has texture; if you run your hand over it...it doesn't actually feel like stones, but it's not just smooth linoleum, either. I'm pretty happy with how well it turned out. The rug...is a rug; it's not orange shag and I am therefore a happy woman.

That's nifty ^^.

Yes, I can see that about the rug, too ;-). I went with cork on my floor and various sizes of Gabbeh rugs.

Looks great! I like that the color matches Mozart (almost). Now everyone is out of your hair (well, except for the deck roofing guys). Do I remember correctly that you had orange shag before? 70's anyone?

Actually, the rug is a sort pale coppery brown that picks up some of the copper hint in the "stone" vinyl. It does not, alas, photograph very well.

...which is probably a good thing in a rug.
