Scavenger Hunt!
Monday, November 28th, 2011 07:44 pmSteve and I have been doing this for a long time, and we're name-droppers. From time to time, we drop names of characters you haven't seen yet. We do this (1) in print and (2) in conversation. Sometimes, we forget what we've said.
So! For the gratitude of confused authors: Can anybody tell us the name of Val Con and Miri's daughter?

Date: 2011-12-01 01:15 pm (UTC)name of Val Con and Miri's daughter
Date: 2011-11-30 04:53 am (UTC)One I remember had the child mentioning Uncle Shannie's perception of the child. There was another snippet, perhaps two, within roughly the same month.
Is this perhaps what you're referring to?
Re: name of Val Con and Miri's daughter
Date: 2011-11-30 04:55 am (UTC)Nothing here.
Date: 2011-11-30 11:36 am (UTC)One possesses LUC #s1 and 2, and chapbooks #12, 13 and 17. No trace of the missing name was found in any of these. In Lord of the Dance Miri is a "new-birthed mother" but of the child we're told nothing.
This would seem to reduce the search to other chapbooks. Or perhaps something online (Splinter U or Baen) that I didn't find.
Someone with a more comprehensive Liaden collection might find something with a focused search.
What bothers me is that I'm quite sure I once came across a mention of said child being left at home in care of the nurse, and a name was given. I don't have a clue which story it was in, I was thinking L of the D, but seem to be wrong on that score. I've undoubtedly mixed it up with something entirely different.
With that, I must apologize for my lack of success and hope that someone else fares better for you.
Erik,
