Oh, you're reading a book!
Monday, January 3rd, 2005 09:20 pm...the tech said, clearly surprised. "What's it about?" As it happens, the book's about the children who were captured by Commanches in Texas in the 1860s, their acculturation to Indian life and what befell those who returned. I gave her the short form of that as we walked down the hall to the scanning room and got me situated on the table. She asked more questions about the book in and around the business of the day, exclaiming more than once over the fact that I was reading! a! book!
Doesn't get out much, I guess...
Bad run at the computer, with the ImposterMonster wailing the You Ain't a Writer blues. Note to self: Next time hire a Monster that can sing.
Snow, sleet, freezing rain and General Guck overnight. Sigh. Real snow would be nice.

Don't beat up on yourself. Everyone has a less than stellar day from time to time.
My two cents. :)
