My goodness, that really IS the wrong cover art. Bet it'll be worth something some day because of it!

Hah, I just sideloaded new books to my Sony (Laura Anne Gilman's Pack of Lies). I wish I had read this post earlier so I could dig in right away. Oh well, I'll buy it now and add it to Calibre so next time it'll be ready for sideloading.

Ah, now I know why everyone is commenting on the cover - Calibre to the rescue (with the help of the large size cover on the BAEN ebooks site).

Don't panic!

Ahhh! Where's my wallet! Run in circles, scream and shout but do not panic! There it is!! Stop reading Alien Proliferation (daytime book) and A Brother's Price (nighttime book)! Get eARC! Prop up in bed with music and Dragon Ship! Tell husband he is in charge and don't bother me for pesky decisions such as "what's for dinner?" There's bread, there's cheese, hey, there's a phone - dinner's covered. Kid will always eat cereal. If its good enough to get you started in the morning, it's good enough to put you to bed.
Seriously...
So much for getting ANY THING else done this weekend! Thank you! Its cold and rainy today in Dayton, OH. Perfect reading weather. This weekend is the second weekend since my father's passing (2/29) that I've not had to be somewhere or do something. I can spend the whole weekend in bed if I want to. Now, I have a reason.
Thank you.

And I'm sorry about your dad ....

I apologize for the delay in responding. I've been away to Surebleak and Bechimo for the weekend and have just returned to the here and now.

This is my first reading Koch's "Alien" series. Great light hearted reading and for the past two months - perfect reading for me. Spencer's "A Brother's Price" is a multi-reread for me. If there was just one book I could wish into a series it's this one. There are other female dominated worlds stories but something about this one I just can't get out of my system. Maybe because it's mostly told from the male point of view and set in an alternate history world instead of the future?

Thank you for your kind words for my father's passing. The heartbreak of this was he was trying to read "Mouse and Dragon" when Alzheimer's stole away his ability to read. He would have been please to hear how Clan Korval goes on.

I read "A Brother's Price" last night. I really enjoyed it, great world building, it felt effortless. Thank you!

Got it and have to pause a minute as I saw the wrong cover load. But lo, turned the page and it was Dragon Ship with a dedication to a wonderful dragon lady, so all is well.

I still have one more exam to create and then I can read it.

Yay! Happy dance! Thanks for the excitement on this grey day.

Do you need any crowd sourced editing notes, or is it well in hand?

I just finished the book I was reading...

I was going to wait for the paper book... was. Copies now on iPad (wrong cover) and Kindle (right cover).

What a great way to spend a cold, rainy Saturday. Fire in the fireplace, cat sleeping in front of same, drizzle & gloom outside, newest book by favorite authors inside, comfy recliner and time. Priceless.

And now it's time to read!

Oh BOY. I did NOT see that surprise reappearance in the final chapter coming. What a delicious twist ... and, oh god, now I want MORE. (But then, that's an ongoing "problem" with the Lee/Miller books anyway, so I should be used to that.)

Got it. Read it. Delighted.

Little annoyed at the spoilery nature of the (correct) cover, but overall delighted beyond words to get to find out what happened next.

And disappointed that it ended right when I really wanted to know what happened next after that…but such is the nature of books in a series. Already looking forward to the next one!

Just finished reading it and am about to go back and reread it right away. It was yummy and satisfying but, of course, I want more.

Thanks so much for the heads up.

I did have time. Yay. It was wonderful. Also wondering if typo problems should be mentioned somewhere. Will hold off re-reading until next weekend. I know better than to read Lee/Miller books during the week when I need to get up in the morning to get to work.
