OMG BERNADETTE DUNN! She's the one who narrated the Sharing Knife series and made me decide I really do like audiobooks after all!

And she'll be narrating Aelliana, my FAVORITE CHARACTER EVER in your books! EEE

I, on the other hand, was extremely irritated with the way she did Sharing Knife. This, however, will probably not stop me from getting Local Custom et al.
Waiting eagerly for September 4.

What I really like about this is the way that it highlights the four threads. The romance of the parents, with Local Custom, Scout's Progress, and Mouse and Dragon. Val Con and Miri against the universe, with the Agent of Change arc. The Roots, with the Crystal Duology and Balance of Trade. And Theo's Tales, with Fledgling, Saltation, Ghost Ship, and Dragon Ship. It's a nice map of the four major threads so far.

I only seem to have titles narrated by Bernadette Dunne of this group. I find her mixed--mostly good, but some aggravations by inconsistent pronunciation of names. I don't know how audiobook production is done and so whether to blame the narrator alone or narrator + audio editor, but when she switches between AR-kay-dee and Ar-KAY-dee (in Bujold's 4th Sharing Knife book) in one paragraph, it's really grating.

All narrators occasionally stress the wrong word in the sentence (of course, sometimes this is reader opinion, but sometimes it's just *wrong*)--those things I put down to a narrator who hasn't prepared well enough. Dunne is among the better narrators for getting it right in my audio collection.
