So, there's a rough of the cover art for Necessity's Child on display at Amazon.  It looks like this:

Necessity's Child, rough. Art by David Mattingly

I'm pleased and really eager to see the finished art.

Another great job by David M. Hurray. Now to wait for it to arrive. Oh, when is your short story on Baen going to show - any idea??

Well...since it isn't the July story, which just came live on Sunday, I'm guessing it's the August story, which should go up on August 15.

The what's-due-when-for-publication-where/when function here at the Confusion Factory was inoperative for while, due to Circumstances. I'm pretty sure we hit our deadlines, but not so sure about the various pub dates.

Tony D over on Baen's Bar confirms that indeed, the Liaden short story will be coming August 15 to support Dragon Ship coming out Sept. 4 -- which also ties in suspiciously well with that Audible blast of Liaden goodness coming that same date.

Watch the skies and listen hard, too?

I believe that Mr. Hetley is in the process of readying his novels for e-release, so a little bit of patience may serve you well, here.

*alerted by Sharon*

The first two backlist books, THE SUMMER COUNTRY and THE WINTER OAK, have left the building for e-book release. Should be available soon at all the usual suspects.

Schedule remains vague on DRAGON'S EYE and DRAGON'S TEETH e-books. DRAGON'S BONES, a novelette, is available on Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, etc, etc.

Well done!
And, great that you arranged an adventure for Syl Vor.
He thought it was going to be so boring staying home.

Cool! Is that a knife or a data wand in his hand?

I believe it may be a spoiler for me to answer that definitively.

Don't think it'd be a spoiler, based on the snippets you've already posted...

Er... right-click and view image, then zoom in a bit. What?

If that is a datawand, I don't think I want to get close to the computer (or other processing entity) that one would insert said data into. Or do you just throw it from the other side of the room and run? It would make data entry more interesting, I suppose. :-)

Brom O'Berin? From The Wizard in Spite of Himself books?

Yes, and if you see a small figure lurking in the foliage ... be very, very polite .... 8]

Love it. I really do like David M's work. I have Ghost Ship on the wall. Necessity's Child looks like it might make a nice companion for it.

Do you have a link to the July story? I registered at Baen's Bar and looked around, but didn't see it anywhere.

Thanks!

The July story, "Conella and the Cyclops Sea Serpent of Doom," by John Ringo, is right on the Baen front page (www.baen.com). It's below the fold, so you have to scroll down a little bit.

The August story, "Landed Alien," by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, will be in that same exact location, beginning August 15.
