That was delightful, and like everything ended much too quickly :)

I found what may be an unfinished spaceholder awaiting editing towards the end of the story:
she’d been leaning toward him as well, her XXX eyes riveted.

Should that XXX be replaced by something, or just cleaned out with all the rest of the writing debris we usually never get to see?
