This is the eighteenth novel detailing the adventures of Clan Korval and other residents of the Liaden Universe®.

The hardcover will be in bookstores in June 2015.  For those who treasure a passion for eArcs, count backward four months from June for your probable release date.  No word yet on whether there will be an audiobook edition.

Outstanding! And I suppose the mass market paperback is a year from the hardcover, mumble, mumble. Only for you two will I buy an eBook (I hate them) and then the mm paperback when it finally comes out ;)

eBooks for the Elderly

I love the feel of a good hardcover. I used to purchase the hardcover when it came out and then would also buy the mm paperback a year later to take with me. However, as my advanced age and general decrepitude catch up with me, I find it's difficult to hold the heavy hardcovers and difficult to read the small print on the mm paperbacks.

With a Nook reader, I can adjust the size of the type on the screen to match the particular day's eyesight. For some reason, I have some days that are better than others.

The other benefit of an eBook is that I can carry a complete library of my favorite books in something the size and weight of a paperback. If I am suddenly struck with the desire to re-read any or all of Sharon's and Steve's books (and I am often suddenly struck thus), I have them all with me. Also, it is useful to have an electronic version of a book to do a quick text search and find a favorite scene or answer a nagging question.

I guess I could always read an eBook while sniffing a hardcover.

Eighteenth book. Wow. I had to go look up the list. It's not that I think you'd be mistaken about that sort of thing, but ... it seemed like a lot. Sure enough, there are seventeen previous ones, and I've read them all, most of them more than once, and if my house was an orderly place they'd all be on a shelf together because I know I own them all (but my house is not an orderly place).

Extreme excitement! When a book by an author(s) I love is graced by cover from such a talented artist I'm always thrilled. I like looking at the Liaden Universe through David Mattingly's eyes. I guess because his vision seems to be in sync with the pictures my mind has drawn.

Selfishly asking: Have you heard whether or not he's going to offer limited edition prints of this one?

18th Liaden book. Awesome! Elections...not so much. I live in a one party state: UT. So not very interesting results.

Also hope the goopy snow can be coped with ok.

Many of the covers have a cat visible somewhere. Am I blind, or is this one an exception?
