This is the eighteenth novel detailing the adventures of Clan Korval and other residents of the Liaden Universe®.

The hardcover will be in bookstores in June 2015.  For those who treasure a passion for eArcs, count backward four months from June for your probable release date.  No word yet on whether there will be an audiobook edition.

eBooks for the Elderly

I love the feel of a good hardcover. I used to purchase the hardcover when it came out and then would also buy the mm paperback a year later to take with me. However, as my advanced age and general decrepitude catch up with me, I find it's difficult to hold the heavy hardcovers and difficult to read the small print on the mm paperbacks.

With a Nook reader, I can adjust the size of the type on the screen to match the particular day's eyesight. For some reason, I have some days that are better than others.

The other benefit of an eBook is that I can carry a complete library of my favorite books in something the size and weight of a paperback. If I am suddenly struck with the desire to re-read any or all of Sharon's and Steve's books (and I am often suddenly struck thus), I have them all with me. Also, it is useful to have an electronic version of a book to do a quick text search and find a favorite scene or answer a nagging question.

I guess I could always read an eBook while sniffing a hardcover.

It's too bad they haven't yet *bottled* that smell, isn't it?

If they bottled the book smell, I could dab a bit behind each ear and in my cleavage. I'd be the most sought-after girl at the SF convention.

For me the e-reader wins these days - same issue that I can choose the font size. I've found a lot of publishers seems to have switched to a more stylish smaller font with larger line spacing which I find much harder to read - especially in the mass market paperbacks.
