rolanni: (The Dragon in Exile)

This is the set-up I use everyday, in all its battered and dusty glory.  I used to have padded rests on the bottom of the board, sort of below the back space and the space keys -- but they wore out.  The two predecessors to this keyboard actually have places where the finish has worn away, which is where I rest...the bottom of my palm actually, rather than my wrists.

This is the keyboard that makes it possible for me to type without my fingers twisting up like tree limbs in the Evil Forest.

being a specifically trained teletype typist I find the modern keyboard to be an incredibly hellacious torture device more suitable to smurfs than to humans. I feel like i'm forcing my fingers into a cone and then trying to type.

I love my kinesis

I've used them for my (computer-heavy programming-type) work for a decade and a half. They're solid, pretty easy to get used to, and my hands don't hurt! What a concept. =]

That's an interesting keyboard. And you should probably get another soft wrist rest. [After all I want you to be able to keep typing forever. So I can keep reading.] Of course the new wrist rest will also wear out, or worse, become a cat toy.
I'm glad that you found something to fit your hands and shoulders. I am still in the eternal hunt.
