So, it's gonna be a hot one today, for Maine values of hot.  The weatherbeans are calling 90F/32C and sunny.

Steve got on the road early, heading south.  I've got some chores to do here around the house.  The plan is that I'll get to them as what I can get to while it's still cool, then camp out in the comfy chair with a book.  Steve hooked up the living room A/C yesterday, so the cats and I will have a cool zone.

Looking at the week ahead, the next chapter of Shan and Priscilla will need to get posted.  I also expect a delivery of a couple hundred copies of Liaden Universe® Constellation, Volume 3 early in the week, which will be the preorders y'all placed with the Uncle.  I'll sign and personalize those; Steve will add his signature when he gets back home, and off they'll go to Minneapolis.

Tuesday, I have the second in a series of two visits to the Radiology Department, which I Very Much Hope will be the End of That. . .

. . .and that's just about it -- not a strenuous week at all.  Monday's supposed to not be quite so warm as today, then the temps will fall off to the more seasonal mid-to-low-80s, so I'll be able to address chores and ebooking and writing without having to drag portable A/C units around the house.  Excellent.

Let's see. It's the second week of the new day care/school for my twin boys (who are now three!). Their dad is back from a work trip, so I'll have help gettin' 'em out the door in the morning. We're both ramping up for our company's big user conference next week in San Diego. He'll be there over the weekend, and I'll be down there 2 days next week.

Plus the boys' grandma arrives on Thursday to stay for a bit over two weeks. Yea!

Well, I got my roofer to come back to finish up the work he started last fall, rolling two coats of acrylic topcoat and mineral granules on top of the foam coating he sprayed previously. That should cover Wednesday and Thursday, since I suspect I'll be up there working alongside him at least some of the time. Friday I take Piglet to the vet for his weekly diabetes checkup, as we're still trying to get his insulin doses tuned up.

My reading material is down to Volume I'm Not Sure What of Martin Gilbert's 8 volume bio of Winston Churchill. Here, it's the spring of 1945, Yalta has concluded, Franklin is obviously barely with us, and the war in Europe is almost over.

According to OUR weather beans, it's going to be in the low 90"s (30 - 33C) for the next 10 days here in Independence, MO.

I can live with that BUT because of all the rain we've been getting, the "real feel" is going to be 105 to 115F with the heat index added.

As far as the ACA, better safe that sorry. My clients that have Medicare DO PAY less that a joint ACA policy. They ARE issued a single pay policy for the non-Medicare spouse.

I agree with the spousal bumpf. When my wife inherited some stock and land here in Missouri, I had to sign off on her selling it.
I can't say what I'm thinking because it is not PC.

I was a male can sell property without her "permission", but she can't without mine, even though my name was never on the title deed.
