It's that merriest of days...
Sunday, April 1st, 2007 07:23 pm...the beginning of the SRM fiscal year. The day's festivities have included inventory (performed very ably by
kinzel, closing the old books out, and opening the new books. Yet before me lies the ritual cleaning out of the file drawer and the printing out of last year's ledger pages, but -- that ain't gonna happen today.
Another thing that ain't gonna happen today is finishing up Chapter Twelve of Fledgling. I was so sure I was going to be done with that this weekend and make a beginning on Chapter Thirteen. Silly writer. You know that any scene with Daav yos'Phelium in it is going to go everywhere but where you want it to go. I do so love Daav, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to throttle him...
kinzel and I did take a couple hours off last night to venture across the river to the big city of Waterville, to attend the Knock On Wood Guitarfest at the Opera House. There numerous Guitar Heroes entertained and entranced us, from the mannered and exquisite Ed Gerhard; to the off-the-wall and always enjoyable The Waybacks, and self-proclaimed surfer demi-god Gary Hoey. In a rare victory of commonsense over abandon, we did not cross the street to the blues club and continue partying until the wee hours, but it was a near thing.
On the weather front, we're looking for snow and/or sleet on the overnight, snow and/sleet tomorrow, snow and/or sleet...well, you get the idea. What fun.
And now I'm going to go rest my poor aching head...
