Sigh.  I stalled about half-way through These Three Remain.  I hope that my excursion into Ms. Aidan's work has not spoilt Ms. Austen for me, but I don't have the heart to pull down Pride and Prejudice just now...

I'm glad to know someone else reads Harris's "Southern Vampire" novels. I consider them to be a nice light read for a long day's end.

I do worse than read her Southern Vampire novels, I have been reading all of Harris's mysteries.

soemthing just hits home. I like the way she refuses to gloss over the problems with the south whle at the same time having the stories be about the characters rather than any politics....

Austen seems pretty much unspoilable, and 'Pride and Prejudice' doubly so--but probably wise to wait, just in case.

The ones I like best are the girl who can tell what the person in the grave died of, and when, and usually winds up solving a mystery in today's world. When is she going to tell her step brother she is in love with him? No sin to marry, happened in my family back a generation, their kids are some of my only whole first cousins.
