...our coffeemaker died this morning.

I met Steve after work and we hit the two Marts (K and Wal, for those who don't live in places where these two options are ...your options), only to discover that a coffeemaker comparable to my beloved, and now deceased, Black and Decker Thermal Select Plus was not to be had in This Town. Came home and went online. Found that there was a Cuisinart that would salve my grief; and further found that it could be had at Home Depot, so I called Home Depot -- "We don't carry coffee pots!" the woman who answered the phone assured me. Hmm. Back to Google. Found the same machine at Kohls; tracked down the number of the store in Augusta and called them. Nope, none in-house; two on order, but no way of knowing when they'd arrive.

So, I ordered the dern thing on-line, and it will be here on Monday. Or Tuesday. I foresee breakfast tomorrow at Tim Horton's, but how I'll survive the weekend is a mystery.

No writing today. There are Reasons, even good ones, but it does make me sad when I don't do any work of a day.

Haven't looked lately, but Folger's used to make coffee in a "tea" bag; foil-wrapped, single use, regular or decaf. Great for traveling/emergencies like this.

They still do, at least the Krogers in Murfreesboro, TN carries it. As well as a version put out by Maxwell House. I just got a box for my dear husband who occasionally needs another cup because somehow too much coffee disappears from the pot in the morning.

I, of course, have absolutely no idea how that happens. ::stares innocently at ceiling whilst plucking lace on sleeves back into place and taking another sip of coffee from an elegant large cup::
