Did I forget to mention here that Steve and I are going to be doing a podcast interview for Off the Shelf in Second Life on Sunday? Talk about your three degree removal from reality. That meant that I needed to download Skype and get it set up (Yes, I have until this very day avoided having Skype anywhere near my computer. Don't judge me.), then call Steve and figure out the interface, which took thirty-five seconds, tops. Then, I had to go into Second Life and accept the four thousand security upgrades that have come down the wire since the last time I was inside.

It was a bright blue day on Cha'trez Island, and I enjoyed the view of the ocean and the snow-covered mountains (new, since my last visit) from the upper deck of my flying house. So nice and peaceful, my flying house. There was a moment of disorientation; I had forgotten that my avatar is incredibly hot looks exactly like me. Steve visited and we established that Skype works inside the game, too, so, yay! We played doll for a while, then took a work break -- he at the office and me here at home.

Still on my plate this evening, finishing the talk for the 18th (next Thursday!), but I may go collapse on the sofa and watch The Librarian: Quest for the Spear instead. Hello, brain? Come home; all is forgiven.

As frequent readers of this journal will recall, on Thursday, October 9, the evening before Albacon begins, Sharon Lee and Steve Miller (with Eric Flint) will be signing books and entertaining passers-by at Flights of Fantasy Bookstore.

We have today heard from Flights of Fantasy that an announcement of our signing is posted on Facebook here: http://www.new.facebook.com/event.php?eid=44652676544 , and asking us to tell all our friends.

I hope that I am not too bold in assuming that I do have friends on Facebook, though I do not, myself, partake. If one -- or several -- of those friends would like to peruse the announcement, attend the event, or, indeed, cordially invite their friends to attend the event, that would be Awfully Nice.

Thanks in advance.
